OHH DEER CREATION STATIONS
Octobers Papergang is another Ohh Deer home grown box! The theme this month is contemporary Breton and has hints of navy, cream and peach to add some snazz to the classic stripe. Have a scroll down and see where our creative team come up with all the good stuff, and how they went about becoming the creative they are today. P.S we apologise for Jamie’s mess….
JADE WALSH - LEAD DESIGNER
I've always loved drawing and making things, and I found it really hard to settle on a specific creative subject to study for my degree. I ended studying Visual Communication (Illustration), and loved it!
After graduating I worked as a Designer in the greeting cards industry, then joined Ohh Deer in 2015. It's great fun to work on lots of different awesome products, and I'm lucky enough to work with not only the loveliest bunch of people ever, but also some of the most talented!
My new favourite product is Gemma Correll's 2018 diary, we worked closely with Gemma to design the inside layout, and I think we may well have created the perfect diary!
AMY LESKO - DESIGNER
Being an avid doodler I decided to study Graphic Design & Illustration at De Montfort University in Leicester! It was the best decision I have ever made and a few months after graduating I landed this incredible job at Ohh Deer (yey!). We’re like one big family here at Ohh Deer (including office puppers
Finley and Scout), we can even swear in the workplace which is a bonus. In terms of stationery, I adore my Nina Cosford “Dreams & Schemes” A5ish Quarterbound Notebook – I use it every single day, it’s so tactile!
JAMIE MITCHELL - CREATIVE DIRECTOR
I studied architorture (ha) at university, however it wasn't for me! I realised that what I really loved was drawing and while doing my year in industry founded Ohh Deer with my partner in life and crime - Mark.
When it comes to drawing - not that I have much time for it now (I'm fulfilled creatively.. I just don't get a lot of time to draw). I normally opt for a mechanical pencil, draw lotttsssss of detail, scan it in and then paint digitally and add textures.
My days now are spend combining the forces of lots of departments to bring some wonderful things to life, working with illustrators is always a joy, and getting to publish the people we work with is awesome!
